Job Description
QTEC Aerospace is seeking a LINUX SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR to join our team of professionals in Huntsville AL. The qualified applicant will become part of a team of professionals representing both industry and government. The successful candidate will be detail oriented have a proven track record and a positive work ethic.
Job Summary
QTEC Aerospace is looking for highly capable and motivated individuals. The successful candidates will function as an integral member of a multi-contractor team providing program engineering and technical support to Missile Defense programs.
Job Duties/Responsibilities
Responsibilities will include but may not be limited to the following:
- Perform daily system administration tasks in Linux environments (primarily RHEL)
- Monitor system performance troubleshoot issues and ensure system integrity and availability
- Collaborate with internal teams and stakeholders to plan deploy and support systems and services
- Prepare and deliver technical documentation and presentations for both technical and non-technical audiences
- Maintain system security and compliance in accordance with organizational standards and regulatory requirements
Minimum Education and Experience
- Bachelors degree in a Science Technology Engineering or Math discipline with at least 2 years of experience OR a Masters degree
- Must have a DOD 8570 IAT Level II certification (ex: Security CE)
Required Knowledge Skills and Abilities
- At least 2 years of experience with Systems Administration for Linux Operating Systems such as RedHat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills including ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and prepare and brief presentations to the customer as needed
- Self-motivated and customer-oriented
Desired Knowledge Skills and Abilities
- Experience with DevOps architecture such as Kubernetes Nexus Docker GitLab etc.
- Experience with security compliance and related security scanning products (ACAS)
- Experience in enterprise backup and restore solutions storage area network (SAN) and network attached storage (NAS)
- Experience with scripting using tools such as Python Perl Bash PowerShell etc.
- Experience with network administration and related infrastructure
- Experience with hardware installation and maintenance to include firmware upgrades
- Candidate must demonstrate strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Security Clearance
Candidates must currently have and be able to maintain a minimum DoD SECRET level security clearance.
