POSITION TITLE: FACULTY LAW ENFORCEMENTPOSITION SUMMARY
The Law Enforcement Faculty member is responsible for providing high-quality instruction in law enforcement and related courses developing and maintaining curriculum aligned with state and federal standards and actively engaging in departmental and institutional service. The faculty member collaborates with colleagues to assess student learning and promote student success. This position requires a commitment to teaching excellence continuous professional development and service to a diverse student body. Willingness to teach at multiple campus sites and in various formats including online and hybrid modalities is required.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
update and deliver curriculum in law enforcement and related courses in accordance with departmental and college standards.
course syllabi lesson plans assignments and assessments consistent with approved course outlines.
in student learning assessment at the course and program levels; analyze results and implement improvements.
and mentor students regarding academic and career pathways in law enforcement and related fields.
actively in departmental divisional and college-wide meetings committees and professional development activities.
currency in the discipline through continuing education and professional engagement.
with departmental and institutional policies regarding grading attendance textbook selection and FERPA.
to program review accreditation processes and curriculum development to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
an inclusive classroom environment that respects diversity and promotes student success.
other duties as assigned by the Department Chair and Academic Dean.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
degree in law enforcement public administration or a closely related field.
completion of a state-recognized law enforcement academy.
of five (5) years full-time experience as a municipal county state or federal certified peace officer with relevant training and field expertise.
oral and written communication skills.
to work positively with diverse populations and build collaborative relationships within the college community.
in the use of instructional technology.
to teaching and continuous improvement in instructional practices.
to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with other members of the college and community displaying cultural competence as well as emotional intelligence.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
(10) years or more of full-time experience as a certified peace officer.
(5) years or more of full-time experience in a Law Enforcement Supervisory Role.
experience in planning or overseeing programs or projects that involve resource allocation program evaluation or organizational effectiveness.
of instructor training coursework at a recognized state or federal institution (e.g. FBI Academy Police Training Institute Northwestern Traffic Institute Illinois State Police Academy).
and Spanish verbal and written communication proficiency.

WORKING CONDITIONS
