You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailThe University of Akrons Allied Health Department seeks a non-tenure track faculty member to teach didactic and experiential courses within the School of Allied Health including (but not limited to) Anatomy & Physiology Medical Terminology Pathology Pharmacology and Evidence-Based Practice. The faculty member may also assist in course development accreditation student advising and evidence-based practice (and/or applied research) of relevance to the school.
Subject to Collective Bargaining Agreement Requirements
Required/ Minimum Qualifications:
1.) Masters degree (or higher) in either a health science or biological sciences-related discipline;
2.) If an entry-level professional master or doctoral degree in a clinical discipline (M.D. D.O. D.C. D.P.T. Pharm.D. etc.) is used to meet the minimum education requirement the degree must be accompanied with active licensure within the United States in the field associated with the professional degree.
Preferred Qualifications:
1.) A minimum of 1 year prior teaching experience;
2.) Experience teaching in an online/distance learning format;
3.) Experience using course management software (i.e. Brightspace Blackboard etc.);
4.) Experience teaching anatomy and physiology for health professions students or experience teaching health professions courses (physical assessment etc.) for which anatomy and physiology is an explicit course prerequisite;
5.) Experience with course development and assessment;
6.) Experience providing academic advising to undergraduate students;
7.) Experience undertaking evidence-based practice (and/or applied research) initiatives;
8.) Participation in activities that support programmatic and/or facility accreditation;
9.) Demonstrated understanding of the role of foundational health sciences courses in preparing students for clinical practice.

Compensation: Compensation for this position is commensurate with experience and qualifications.
