Catholic Charities Our Daily Bread Employment Center is currently seeking a Volunteer Manager who will foster a collaborative environment among staff and volunteers ensuring effective volunteer management and community engagement to support program operations and client success. Additionally the role involves cultivating donor relationships coordinating events and programming maintaining accurate records and promoting volunteer opportunities to further the organizations mission and impact. The work schedule is Monday - Friday 8:00am- 4:30pm
For over 35 years Our Daily Bread Employment Center has offered daily hot meals case management job training and employment counseling to Baltimore City residents. Volunteer & Staff Engagement
- Maintain daily on-site presence to nurture a collaborative culture coaching volunteers and staff through hands-on interaction.
- Ensure consistent volunteer coverage year-round coordinating schedules to meet program needs.
- Lead on-site volunteer training programs that align with the organizations culture philosophy and values.
- Educate staff on best practices for partnering with volunteers
Community & Donor Relations
- Attend meetings across multiple partner locations to support clients transitions to employment housing and self-suffciency.
- Cultivate donor relationships and secure guest speakers for life-skills classes.
- Manage and deepen partnerships with community organizations businesses and schools via face-to-face outreach.
- Coordinate and lead corporate business and school service days ensuring meaningful volunteer experiences.
- Conduct site tours for community members and prospective volunteers to showcase program impact.
Program Operations & Data Management
- Maintain complete volunteer records including background checks references evaluations and service hours in compliance with agency standards.
- Develop and update volunteer position descriptions to reflect evolving program needs.
- Track and manage material donations on-site working with businesses and donors to ensure proper distribution.
- Produce reports on volunteer services outcomes and engagement metrics for leadership review.
Communications & Outreach
- Collaborate with the Director of Volunteer Services and Outreach to maintain consistent standards of volunteer support and reporting.
- Draft newsletter articles social-media posts and other correspondence to highlight volunteer opportunities and successes.
- Oversee the organizations social-media presence to promote volunteer openings and engage the community.
Additional Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary on-site liaison between the organization and community partners.
- Lead volunteer recruitment and engagement strategies aligned with organizational goals.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelors degree.
- Two years experience in volunteer or related position. A combination of education and experience may be considered.

Other Microsoft Office application knowledge such as Word Excel PowerPoint Teams and OneDrive desired.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Light work that includes moving objects up to 20 pounds.
- Remaining in a stationary position which may involve standing or sitting for extended periods as required to complete tasks or duties associated with the role.
- Moving about to accomplish tasks or transitioning between different work sites which may involve walking standing or traveling to various locations as required by the role.
- Engaging in communication with others to exchange information which may involve speaking listening writing or using electronic communication methods to ensure clear and effective understanding. This includes both verbal and non-verbal interactions with colleagues clients or external parties.
- Repetitive motions involving the wrists hands and/or fingers including tasks such as typing data entry or handling small objects. These repetitive activities may be performed throughout the workday and require attention to ergonomics to ensure comfort and minimize strain.
- Hearing and vision abilities with or without correction sufficient to drive safely and effectively observe and communicate with others.
- Driving (Agency and/or personal vehicle) is required for this position. Driver must be at least 21 years of age with a minimum of 2 years of driving experience in the United States and a valid drivers license issued by the state of residence. There can be no state issued restrictions on the licenses that would impede drivers ability to operate the vehicle as required by the Agency and there must not be more than three (3) points on their driving record.
