Role Overview
We are seeking a highly proactive and self-motivated Strategy and Growth Associate to support the Director of Strategy and Growth North America in establishing and expanding MJVs presence in Chicago. This part-time role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the growth of a new office from the ground up gain hands-on experience in business development strategy and market intelligence and make a tangible impact on MJVs success in the region. The ideal candidate is eager to pursue clients secure meetings and drive results in a dynamic fast-paced environment. This position has the potential to transition into a full-time role with MJV USA offering a pathway for career growth within our organization.
ResponsibilitiesKey Responsibilities
- Prospect Outreach and Scheduling Top Priority: Actively pursue clients by scheduling meetings with prospective clients managing the Directors calendar and coordinating follow-ups to ensure seamless communication and relationship-building.
- Business Development Support: Proactively identify and research high-potential prospects for MJVs services including corporations startups and other organizations in need of strategy innovation or transformation consulting.
- Strategy and Growth Initiatives: Collaborate with the Director to develop and execute strategies for client acquisition market penetration and brand awareness in Chicago.
- Market Intelligence: Conduct thorough research on the Chicago market including industry trends competitor analysis and emerging opportunities to inform strategic decisions.
- Event and Networking Support: Identify relevant industry events conferences or networking opportunities in Chicago and assist in planning MJVs participation.
- Idea Generation: Bring fresh creative ideas for business development marketing campaigns and innovative approaches to attract and retain clients.
- CRM Management: Maintain and update client and prospect information in MJVs CRM system to ensure accurate tracking of leads and opportunities.
- Content Support: Assist in creating presentations proposals and other materials to pitch MJVs services to potential clients.
PrerequisitesQualifications
- Education: Current enrollment in a Masters degree program including MBA Law (with an interest in business development) dual-degree programs in Law and MBA or dual-degree programs in MBA and Strategic Design or second-year or higher students currently enrolled in a Bachelors of Business Administration (BBA).
- Skills:
- Exceptional proactivity and self-motivation with a strong drive to pursue clients and secure meetings.
- Strong research and analytical skills to gather and synthesize market intelligence.
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal for confident prospect outreach and internal collaboration.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel PowerPoint Word) and familiarity with CRM tools (e.g. Salesforce HubSpot) is a plus.
- Creative thinking and problem-solving abilities to contribute innovative ideas.
- Organized and detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Experience: Prior experience in business development sales marketing or strategy is a plus but not required.

- Eager and tenacious in going after clients and scheduling meetings to drive business growth.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced dynamic environment with evolving priorities.
- Passion for learning and contributing to the growth of a new office.
- Availability: Ability to commit to 20-30 hours per week and work in a hybrid or in-office setting in Chicago (flexibility to be discussed).
