Job Description Summary
The Warehouse Specialist is responsible for managing all activities related to shipping from Manufacturing ensuring Trade Compliance and providing on-demand support to the warehouse team. This role is accountable for meeting internal customer needs while ensuring adherence to company policies and international trade compliance regulations.
Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Manage all activities related to shipping.
- Process shipping items in the ERP system and handle material transactions.
- Coordinate shipments including preparing necessary paperwork.
- Register shipments with freight forwarders.
- Ensure timely and high-quality shipments at the lowest cost.
- Address and resolve shipment issues.
- Serve as the internal and external contact for all shipping-related inquiries.
- Ensure Trade Compliance and lead the Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) program.
- Handle import/export processes including preparing required documentation.
- Create and manage tax codes.
- Collaborate with global teams on global initiatives.
- Perform warehouse distribution duties in compliance with Good Distribution Practices (GDP) and local procedures.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent plus formation ideally in logistics or supply chain management
- Experience in export operations order management or freight forwarder operations.
- Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional global team environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Fluent German language skills and good English language skills
Preferred Characteristics:
- Training formation education or Bachelors Degree in Logistics Materials or Supply Chain Management.
- Experience in operational logistics import/export and/or customs expertise.
- Strong communication and analytical skills including experience working with individuals from diverse countries and cultures.
- Ability to energize develop and build rapport across all levels of the organization.
- Proven ability to execute multi-task and deliver on commitments.
- Experience working in a compliant supply chain.
- Six Sigma Green Belt certification.
- Oracle order management experience.
Quality-Specific Goals:
- Awareness of and compliance with the GEHC Quality Manual Quality Management System Quality Management Policy Quality Goals and applicable laws and regulations.
- Completion of all planned Quality & Compliance training within defined deadlines.
- Identification and reporting of any quality or compliance concerns with immediate corrective action as required.
