Are you passionate about empowering older people and protecting their rights As an Aged Care Advocate with ADA Australia youll play a vital role in informing educating supporting and representing our clients helping them make informed choices and ensuring their voices are heard and respected.
In this rewarding role youll provide advocacy via phone email and face-to-face visits in the community. Youll work directly with vulnerable older people to help resolve concerns and improve their aged care experience.
Reporting to the Aged Care Advocacy Team Leader youll be part of a values-driven team that collaborates to deliver high-quality client-focused advocacy services.
This is a temporary position available for immediate start through to 30 June 2026.
Key Duties include
Delivery of high-quality advocacy through information education support and representation
Facilitate and deliver education sessions to aged care recipients and staff both within the community and residential aged care homes.
Network and build partnerships with other organisations to promote our services.
Represent ADA Australia at workshops forums public engagements and networking events.
Identify and recommend appropriate services for our clients.
Complete timely associated administration.
Identify service needs/gaps from casework and provide feedback.
Actively participate and collaborate with team members.
Ensure compliance with standards and legislation.
About you
Relevant qualification and/or training.
Experience working with and/or advocating for older people or vulnerable groups.
Be familiar with working within a social justice framework.
High level interpersonal and relationship building skills.
Proven ability to communicate with and deliver presentations to groups.
Understanding to apply legislation policies and procedures.
Willingness and ability to travel throughout the region.

Essential requirements
Valid Australian Drivers licence.
Current (less than three (3) years old) pre-employment National Criminal History Certificate.
Valid NDIS Worker Screening Clearance.
Valid Working with Children/Blue Card.
