About the role:

This is a part-time role offered on a maximum-term basis until 28 November 2025.

The Classroom Support Officer plays a vital role in supporting students and staff within the Technological & Applied Studies (TAS) faculty.

This position involves preparing materials and equipment for practical lessons across areas such as Food Technology STEAM and Hospitality. The role also includes assisting teachers with classroom support maintaining tools and resources supervising students and contributing to a safe and engaging learning environment. Strong communication skills curriculum awareness and hands on experience in TAS subjects are essential.

Essential criteria:

  • Demonstrated experience in supporting students in Technological & Applied Studies (TAS) in a school setting.
  • Afundamental understanding of the basic Technology Food Technology STEAM and Hospitality concepts being taught in schools and familiarity with the content of the curriculum
  • Experience in preparing materials and produce and maintenance of tools and equipment
  • Experience in providing one-on-one and small group support to students in the TAS subject area
  • Effective communicator with strong literacy and numeracy skills that enable them to support students in a range of subject.
  • Strong information and communication technology skills.
  • The successful applicant will possess a NSW Working with Children Check and be willing to undertake a National Criminal History Check.

Desirable criteria:

  • Certificate III in Education Support or similar
  • Certificate III in Hospitality
  • NSW Food safety Certificate
