Part-Time Digital Content Specialist

Location: Remote within the United States
Employment Type: Part-time 24 hours per week

Job Summary

TransLash Media is seeking a creative detail-oriented and collaborative Digital Content Specialist to lead support and execute our digital content strategy across newsletters blog posts website copy and guides. This role helps shape and elevate our content strategy by maintaining a voice that is sharp compelling inclusive and optimized for SEO and accessibility. The ideal candidate will be a strong storyteller who understands how to drive engagement through thoughtful mission-aligned writing while working seamlessly with our digital team. Availability is required during East Coast business hours (9 AM 5 PM ET) with occasional evening and weekend support as needed.


Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Write edit and format weekly and special-edition newsletters using platform tools (e.g. Mailchimp Substack or similar)

  • Develop and create compelling content for upcoming campaigns and evergreen storytelling including but not limited to blog posts zines long-format social media content toolkits and website content aligned with TransLash s voice and mission

  • Identify opportunities to refresh website content and proactively update copy edit and draft web pages using clear engaging and keyword-optimized language to improve user experience and SEO performance

  • Implement SEO best practices (headings alt-text metadata readability etc.) across digital platforms where applicable

  • Maintain consistency in tone structure format and accessibility across all written content

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with the digital team and others to ensure alignment between written and visual content

  • Perform additional digital and administrative tasks as assigned to support the Director of Digital & Social Media

Required Skills/Abilities:
  • 3-5 years experience in journalism copywriting content marketing newsletter editing or similar digital content experience

  • Demonstrated experience writing for digital platforms and diverse audiences

  • Knowledge of SEO best practices and content performance tools

  • Strong command of grammar AP Style (or similar) and plain language principles

  • Proficiency in CMS platforms newsletter platforms Google docs and collaborative editing

  • You also have:

    • Experience writing social media content

    • Proven ability to collaborate across diverse cultures backgrounds and perspectives

    • Strong interpersonal communication and relationship-building skills

    • Skilled in balancing creative ideas with data-driven thinking

    • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities

    • Effective time management and proactive planning from concept to execution

    • Self-motivated ambitious and entrepreneurial in approach

Physical Requirements:
  • Remaining in a stationary position often sitting or standing for prolonged periods

  • Prolonged periods working on a computer

  • Communicating with others to exchange information

  • Repeating motions that may include the wrists hands and/or fingers

  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at a time.


Compensation and Benefits:

$45 an hour plus benefits. Part-time employees are eligible for the following benefits:
