Are you curious about satellite production from engineering test through manufacturing and launch What about enabling Project Kuipers vision to build and launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites that will provide low-latency high-speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world Join the Electrical Ground Support Equipment team to deliver software that runs on custom hardware and helps manage the full lifecycle of satellite operations on ground.
We are looking for an engineer with experience in device software tcp communications system level c/c/rust programming experience along with knowledge of foundational AWS cloud services such as IAM Lambdas Step functions Cloud watch etc.
The candidate would participate in all phases of software development from requirements through implementation and test to operations. You will engage with an experienced cross-disciplinary staff to conceive and design solutions. You must be responsive flexible and able to succeed within an open collaborative peer environment. You will work with cross-functional partner teams and lead efforts with engineers from requirements to deployment.
You will participate in the design integration and improvement of the SW. This includes designing and implementing a wide range of low-level software on our hardware and other low level programming activities.
Export Control Requirement:
Due to applicable export control laws and regulations candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national U.S. permanent resident (i.e. current Green Card holder) or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

- Partner with device software frontend networking and security engineering teams
- Scale production implementation to support global deployments including multiple launch sites throughout the world
A day in the life
This role is for a Software Development Engineer who will design and build test and launch support equipment and support Kuiper test manufacturing launch operations. You will be building low-latency highly scalable architecture that are critical to getting high quality internet service to customers.
- 3 years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2 years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
- 3 years of full software development life cycle including coding standards code reviews source control management build processes testing and operations experience
- Bachelors degree in computer science or equivalent

The base pay for this position ranges from $129300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
