Boilermaker

The Didipio mine is located on Luzon Island in the Philippines and is the Companys only asset that produces both gold and copper. Didipio was built by OceanaGold in 2013 and operates fully as underground mine with over 800 employees that support the mine.

OceanaGold is seeking a suitable qualified and reliable Boilermaker who will be responsible in performing safe welding/fabrication works to maintain and maximize utilization of accommodation & offices building structures & equipment effectively and efficiently. The role will report to the Supervisor Facilities Maintenance.

Key tasks and responsibilities:

• Read & Interpret blueprints technical drawings and specifications and understands assets operation and its components
• Perform welding cutting fabricating and joining methods for repair modifications or project works on company assets such as equipment machineries vehicles facilities and structures as instructed by the supervisor
• Use and maintain hand and power tools to cut shape and weld metal components
• Perform preventive maintenance tasks asset repairs and refurbishments in accordance to agreed workshop procedures
• Assist in breakdown maintenance and troubleshooting
• Inspect completed work for quality and compliance with safety standards;
• Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures
• Operate light equipment like service vehicle boom truck and bobcat following prescribed operating procedures for said equipment
• Do other tasks as preparation for the accomplishment of a specific job but not limited to scaffolding works excavation etc.

Qualifications :

• Behaviour consistent with OceanaGold Values and the OceanaGold Way
• At least high school graduate or technical/vocational course graduate in Welding
• With a Valid National Certificate (NCII) in SMAW/GTAW/GMAW
• With a Valid Professional Drivers License applicable for light vehicle operation
• At least 2 years experience working as a welder/fabricator/boilermaker carrying out general fabrication and maintenance
• With knowledge in general construction welding and fabrication works
