Master Boilermaker UG

• Attend and conduct Safety meetings
• Conduct and participate in Risk assessments
• Allocate tasks to subordinate or support personnel and contractors
• Attend to breakdowns and emergencies as required
• Conduct VFL on Boilermakers subordinates learners or support personnel and contractors towards compliance with AAP standards specifications and procedures relating to the discipline.
• Ensure that material spares and equipment are available as required
• Ensure proper and adequate on the job training and coaching is provided to subordinates learners or support personnel and contractors
• Exercise judgment with regards to repair versus replacement versus upgrade of components
• Provide Timely and accurate information
• Records results of all legal examinations in the appropriate format
• Work in a sequence that prioritizes work requirements
• Completing relevant administration including but not limited to procedures standards job cards and description of work and spares used (PMs)
• Performing work to the required standards and specifications
• Applying appropriate tools to complete tasks
• Ensure readily after hour availability when on standby
• Assist boilermakers and relevant staff with advanced troubleshooting and support
• Provide advice to boilermakers and relevant staff on structural repairs and preventative maintenance
• Technical mentor and coach to all Learnerships and skills development candidates passing through a workshop

This role is in the Technical -Engineering Operations Department at a band C3 level role reporting to the Foreman Mechanical.

Qualifications :

• Boilermaker Trade Test
• N4 Boilermaker qualification
• AAP SIMM inspectors course (advantageous)
• CO2 MIG (Metal Inert Gas) (advantageous)
• TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas) (advantageous)
• NACE Level 2 (advantageous)
• Grade 12 or equivalent
