Job Description
Xara Catering part of the esteemed Xara Collection is looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Chief Steward to lead our stewarding team in delivering top-tier service for high-profile events weddings and large-scale functions.
The Chief Steward plays a crucial role in ensuring the cleanliness organization and operational readiness of all back-of-house areas. You will be responsible for supervising stewarding staff managing equipment and inventory and maintaining hygiene and safety standards across all catering functions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of stewarding staff during events and daily operations
- Ensure all kitchen and service equipment is clean well-maintained and properly stored
- Oversee dishwashing waste management and sanitation practices
- Manage inventory and requisitions of cleaning materials equipment and banquet supplies
- Implement and monitor compliance with hygiene safety and HACCP standards
- Support the culinary and service teams in ensuring smooth event execution
- Train and motivate stewarding staff for efficiency and team consistency
Qualifications :
Requirements:
- Proven experience as Chief Steward or Steward Supervisor preferably in catering or large event operations
- Strong leadership and organizational skills
- Knowledge of food safety hygiene standards and HACCP regulations
- Ability to manage a team and work effectively under pressure
- Excellent communication and time management skills
- Flexibility to work evenings weekends and public holidays as required
