EASTCONN is hiring 3 full time Program Facilitators for the Youth Employment and Training Talent Pipeline Programs in the Eastern Connecticut region. Job responsibilities include:
- Provide career pathway guidance (post-secondary education/training & employment) to high school students interested in health and manufacturing industries
- Raise awareness of health and manufacturing careers and training opportunities
- Assist high schools in organizing and attending Health and Manufacturing Career Fairs as well as other learning opportunities in these fields.
- Communicate with high school staff about participant progress in training
- Coach participants through employment plan action step development training funding application procedures and job placement activities.
- Participate in recruitment orientation and enrollment activities
- Provide person centered case management services
- Administer comprehensive career assessment tools which may be industry specific; skill/aptitude-specific; interest inventories; & other tools relevant to customer needs
- Work with Business Services Team to identify available mentoring guest speakers and/or job opportunities for those completing healthcare and manufacturing courses
- Develop educational and career plans with participants
- Provide supportive services to participants and/or referrals to human services and community resources.
- Maintain customer management database and required reporting.
- Assist young adults with securing work based learning internships and permanent employment.
- Connect high school staff participants and other partners with local American Job Center resources.
Required qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree in Psychology Sociology Human Development Counseling Workforce Development or other relevant degree field plus three years related work experience (will consider reasonable alternative combination of education and experience)
- Experience in Case Management systems having been responsible for a caseload of customers and maintaining requisite data entry.
- Ability to thrive within diverse teams and serve people with diverse socioeconomic racial and ethnic backgrounds.
- Excellent customer service communication mediation and de-escalation skills; verbal and written.
- Competency with Google Suite Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Capacity to complete data-entry tasks utilizing web-based systems maintain accuracy and efficiency in fast-paced environment.
- Ability to frequently travel within Eastern Connecticut and occasionally statewide with reliable transportation.
