Minimum Qualifications

Five years of experience in administrative services public health social services or health services; OR

Six years of full-time experience in any field plus two years of experience in administrative services public health social services or health services; OR

A bachelors degree plus two years of experience in administrative services public health social services or health services; OR

An advanced degree in a social science field public health counseling social work rehabilitation services business public or health administration or Juris Doctorate plus one year of experience in administrative services public health social services or health services.

EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

Job Duties:


This position will report to Assistant Secretary in the office of Reentry Education and Chaplaincy.



Position-Specific Details:

THIS POSITION IS A JOB APPOINTMENT

This posting is for a temporary job appointment lasting up to four years;

however should a permanent position become available

the employee may be converted to a probational appointment.


This position serves as the key liaison between local and state facility program purchase requests and the Business Office managing a multimillion-dollar budget. It ensures that funds are spent according to approved allocations maintains accurate funding records and oversees the entire purchasing processfrom request to purchase to receiptwhile securing proper documentation for submission to the Business Office. Additionally this role is responsible for making purchases on behalf of the Department as needed and maintaining all related bookkeeping and accounting journals.



Based at the Department of Corrections Headquarters in Baton Rouge this role offers a front-row seat to the transformative work being done to prepare incarcerated individuals for successful reentry through education and rehabilitation programs. Youll have the rare opportunity to visit state and local correctional facilities conducting hands-on audits and seeing the direct impact of your work. All of this takes place in a positive mission-driven environment where every day brings purpose and progress.

Note regarding the advertised pay range:The maximum amounts listed are the maximum salary amounts a person can make at each level over their career and notthe amount we are allowed to pay a new hire.
