QUALIFICATIONS
- Four-year college degree preferred or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 5 to 7 years experience in non-clinical healthcare operations.
- Basic knowledge of basic business skills such as goal creation adherence to budget management.
- Basic knowledge of compliance and risk management related to departments.
- Basic understanding of process improvement.
- Basic knowledge of hospital operations.
- Skills necessary to problem solve and ability to think critically and flexibility to adapt to change.
- Well-developed communication skills.
- Organization skills and ability to prioritize work.
- Ability to assess gaps in patient care and develop solutions.
- Ability to collaborate with leadership to ensure compliance with processes and policies.
- Ability to think critically to maximize resources to meet goals and objectives efficiently
OCCUPATIONAL EXPOSURE
Category I exposure to blood borne pathogens frequent exposure to chemical hazards and may encounter radiation hazards.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversees staffing and productivity of Materials Management Dietary Environmental Service and BioMed departments.
- Reviews department performance and make changes as needed to improve service.
- Oversees the development and execution of departmental policies and procedures.
- Manages departmental budgets reviews and approves invoices maintain current contracts and manage projects.
- Provides professional development to staff members and conducts employee rounding.
- Works closely with department heads relating to projects and regulatory requirements.
- Ensures appropriate resource allocation in supplies and equipment.
- Ensures requirements outlined by Joint Commission State of Texas and CMS are met.
- Develops and implements continual process improvement projects for each department.
