Overview

Position: Youth and Family Education Administrator (YFEA)

Department: Youth and Family Education Harrisburg PA

Availability of Position: Immediately

Schedule: Full-time flexible to meet job demands

Reporting Relationship: Directly: Programs and Services Chief Administrator Indirectly: Corps Commanding Officer

Salary Grade: 10; Exempt

Responsibilities

Position Overview: The YFEA is responsible for the oversight of the Youth and Family Education department which includes the Roller Enrichment Academy and STEAM Scholars 21st CCLC programming Summer Youth Enrichment Thrive After School School Day Enrichment Basketball Mentoring Parent and Family Engagement and Community Outreach. The YFEA role will focus on program development implementation compliance reporting and logistics. This position will focus on overseeing all Youth and Family Education programming operations to include supervisory responsibilities for all department staff including school year and seasonal summer program staff members interns volunteers and program partners. The YFEA will have administrative oversight of the department and will lead and coordinate trainings for department staff. The YFEA will lead the departmental team program planning sessions oversee the development of the program schedule lead and plan all staff meetings ensure all attendance and time sheets are tracked etc. Responsible for overseeing the compilation of the quarterly and annual evaluation and program reports monthly expenditure reports and funding proposals. The YFEA will also maintain and manages our partnerships and provide follow up regarding data collection and access for required reports. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Degree in the field of Education or related field and 5 years of experience working with urban diverse youth and their families.
  • Confidentiality in all areas mandatory.
  • Flexible availability due to changing hours based on programming schedule.
  • Should be self-motivated exhibit strong initiative and strong time management skills.
  • Must have good organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment but also able to work independently.
  • Knowledge of cultural flexibility competency in working with multi-cultural participants and experienceworking with inner-city and un-churched youth.
  • Leadership training and a minimum of 3-4 years prior experience managing and training staff.
  • Computer skills in Microsoft Publisher Excel and Power point.
  • Prior experience in using spreadsheets and database systems effectively.
  • Prior experience managing and reporting out on federal grants and licensed programs.
  • Prior experience tracking program outcomes and reporting out on results.
  • Must be able to adapt and change to meet the needs of the organization and the community.
  • Valid Drivers License and able to obtain insurance clearances as determined by The Salvation Armys insurance company.
  • Valid CPR and First Aid Certification
  • As a Mandated Reporter must provide proof of having completed training on recognizing and reporting child abuse meeting the training standards of PA Act 153.
  • Meets the Child Protection Clearances required by PA Act 153 to include PA Child Abuse History Clearance PA State Police Criminal Record Check and FBI Criminal Record Check.
  • Must have an understanding of and appreciation for the Mission of The Salvation Army.
