As a Software Architect in the R&D A&D team you will play a key role in shaping high-quality scalable and maintainable software solutions that align with our Aerospace & Defense product offering. You will be responsible for driving architectural decisions guiding technical strategy and ensuring development best practices are followed across the team. You will collaborate closely with product managers requirement owners engineers and other stakeholders to design and implement fit-for-purpose solutions that address real customer needs.
This role requires a strong background in software engineering and architecture a deep understanding of enterprise-grade software development and proven experience working in a global distributed R&D setup. Key Responsibilities
- Own the design and architecture of complex mission-critical software solutions based on functional and technical requirements.
- Define and drive best practices for scalable secure and high-performance software development.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to a team of software engineers.
- Collaborate closely with requirement owners product managers UX designers and global engineering teams to align on architecture and design strategies.
- Ensure code quality through code reviews technical design reviews and implementation of sound software engineering practices.
- Advocate and implement DevOps principles to support continuous integration and delivery.
- Create and maintain technical documentation architectural diagrams and knowledge-sharing content.
- Lead technology evaluations and decisions for new tools frameworks and platforms.
- Promote and apply lean and agile principles throughout the development lifecycle.
- Stay updated with industry trends and actively contribute to the evolution of the A&D solution architecture.
Qualifications :
- A degree in Software Engineering Computer Science or Information Technology.
- 8 years of proven experience in enterprise-grade software development including at least 3 years in a technical or architectural leadership role.
- Strong hands-on experience in Java/J2EE PL/SQL and Oracle database technologies.
- Experience with Angular and/or React front-end frameworks and their integration with backend services.
- Solid understanding of web technologies (HTML CSS JavaScript/TypeScript REST APIs).
- Experience working with Git and repository management tools such as Bitbucket.
- Familiarity with container technologies such as Docker.
- Experience working in distributed global teams.
- Strong focus on security performance and DevOps practices.
- Proactive and responsible with a strong sense of ownership and initiative.
- Ability to lead and guide a team of engineers from a technical perspective.
Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have)
- Experience with the IFS technology stack and internal development practices.
- Hands-on experience in IFS Cloud development particularly with Aurena.
- Domain knowledge or experience in Aerospace & Defense solutions.
- Proven experience driving architectural decisions across cross-functional teams or large-scale projects.
