Primary Purpose:
The Junior High Campus Athletic Coordinator is directly supervised by the athletic director and campus principal. The Junior High Campus Coordinator shall oversee and manage all duties specific to the position in addition to duties assigned by the athletic director and principal.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
- Masters degree preferred
- Bachelors degree from accredited university required
- Valid license from Texas Teaching Certificate and High Qualified status for subject and level assigned

Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Campus Duties:
- Organize and administer the junior high school athletic program in accordance with UIL and CISD objectives and policies.
- Assist in interviewing candidates for campus athletic positions and collaborate with Athletic Director and/or Principal.
- Ensure implementation of philosophies schemes strategies techniques skills offenses and defenses as stressed by the high school head coach.
- Abide by and enforce UIL rules governing program.
- Ensure the integrity and character of the program.
- Ensure favorable public relations image for program.
- Enforce the CISD Extra-Curricular Activities Code of Conduct.
- Ensure proper dress behavior and conduct of program teams/individuals.
- Enforce program rules and handle violations/violators accordingly.
- Maintain a complete and accurate list of coach certifications and provide summary to the athletic office.
- Complete the End of Year requirements and submit to the athletic office by due dates.
- Manage the campus athletic budget.
- Maintain a complete and accurate campus athletic equipment inventory.
- Organize parental communications procedure.
- Coordinate campus level athletic schedules.
- Ensure that athletic schedules are posted and accurate on campus website.
- Report schedule changes to the athletic office.
- Organize and/or oversee program events.
- Coordinate and schedule event supervisors and game support staff for on-campus athletic activities.
- Confirm game officials for all junior high school contests.
- Submit work requests for athletic fields/gyms/areas.
- Collect and reconcile UIL physical and consent forms.
- Maintain eligibility reports.
- Adhere to and enforce the district CDL requirement for coaches.
- Coordinate campus FITNESSGRAM test as pertained to Athletics.
- Submit information and reports as requested by the district athletic office.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Athletic Director and/or Campus Principal.
Supervisory Duties:
- Complete an annual evaluation of each assistant coach.
- Communicate with campus principal in a timely manner regarding any areas of personnel concern which need to be addressed. Be prepared to provide documentation to the administrator to assist in the remediation process.

Tools/Equipment Used: Exercise equipment and devices including stationary bike pulleys weights whirlpool and cold packs; automated external defibrillator (AED) and other tools/equipment as provided.
