We are seeking an enthusiastic and talented Junior Sous Chef to join our culinary team in Riyadh Saudi Arabia. As a key member of our kitchen staff you will work closely with the Executive Chef and Sous Chef to ensure the highest quality of food preparation and presentation. This role offers an exciting opportunity to showcase your culinary skills creativity and leadership abilities in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
- Assist the Executive Chef and Sous Chef in overseeing daily kitchen operations and food production
- Collaborate on menu development incorporating innovative dishes and seasonal ingredients
- Ensure consistent food quality and presentation across all menu items
- Train mentor and supervise junior kitchen staff fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment
- Maintain strict adherence to food safety hygiene and allergen management protocols
- Manage inventory coordinate ordering and optimize kitchen workflow and prep schedules
- Contribute to cost control efforts including portioning and waste reduction
- Assist in creating and implementing new recipes and cooking techniques
- Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations
- Step in for the Sous Chef or Executive Chef when necessary
- Participate in menu tastings and special culinary events
Qualifications :
- Proven experience as a Junior Sous Chef or in a similar role preferably within the hotel or fine dining industry
- Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery Culinary Arts degree or equivalent culinary qualifications
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to train motivate and manage kitchen staff
- Excellent culinary skills and proficiency in various cooking techniques
- Creative flair for developing innovative dishes and menu concepts
- In-depth knowledge of food safety requirements including HACCP principles
- Understanding of workplace health and safety (WH&S) regulations
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication skills in English; knowledge of Arabic is a plus
- Familiarity with local Saudi cuisine and Middle Eastern flavors is highly desirable
- Proficiency in kitchen management software and inventory systems
- Flexibility to work various shifts including evenings weekends and holidays
- Passion for culinary excellence and commitment to continuous learning
