You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailThe Ethics Assistant works under the direction of the Administrator for the Select Committee on Legislative Ethics. The position supports the nine-member Legislative Ethics Committee comprised of four legislators and five members of the public.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The Ethics Assistant provides general office support to the Ethics Committee and Administrator assists with training and provides guidance to legislators legislative employees and other covered employees to comply with the provisions of the Ethics Act AS 24.60.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
Alaska residency (and)High School Graduation or GED (and)two years office clerical/secretarial experience.
Preferred qualifications:
Bachelors degree.
Paralegal or research experience.
Social media page development and maintenance experience

Schedule: This position is a temporary 30-hour a week position. Travel to Juneau during the legislative session is likely.
Special Note:
This is a fully exempt job class under AS 39.25.11(3).
Positions in the Ethics Committee are required to be politically neutral.
This position accesses sensitive information. A Confidentiality Agreement is required. The Ethics Act (AS 24.60) requires legislators legislative employees and public members of the Ethics Committee to disclose for the public certain activities and associations in which they engage e.g. board memberships close economic associations and state contracts.
