1. Unix/Linux Administration:
- Maintain Unix/Linux servers with a focus on SUSE ensuring their availability performance and security.
- Perform regular system updates patches and upgrades.
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues as they arise.
- Implement and maintain backup and recovery solutions.
- Ensure compliance with security policies and best practices.
2. Automation with Ansible:
- Develop Ansible playbooks for automating routine tasks and configurations.
- Identify opportunities for automation to improve efficiency and reduce manual intervention.
- Provide guidance and training to team members on Ansible best practices.
3. Vulnerability and Patch Management:
- Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and implement remediation plans.
- Manage the patching process to ensure all systems are up-to-date with the latest security patches.
- Work closely with the security team to address any identified vulnerabilities promptly.
- Maintain documentation of vulnerability and patch management activities.
4. People Management:
- Lead a team of Unix engineers providing support for their professional development.
- Conduct regular one-on-one meetings and performance reviews with team members.
- Foster a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
5. Project Management:
- Participate in infrastructure projects ensuring they are delivered on time and within scope.
- Coordinate with other IT teams and partners to ensure successful project execution.
- Develop project documentation including plans schedules and status reports.
6. Audits and Compliance:
- Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with internal policies and industry standards.
- Prepare for and participate in external audits.
- Implement corrective actions based on audit findings to improve processes and security.
7. Continuous Improvement:
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies related to Unix/Linux administration and automation.
- Identify process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and reliability.
Qualifications :
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology or a related field.
- 7 years of experience in Unix/Linux administration with a focus on SUSE.
- Experience with automation tools Ansible.
- Technical expertise in Unix/Linux administration particularly RedHat & SUSE
- Experience in vulnerability and patch management.
- Experience in people management and team leadership.
