Job Description

Primary Purpose:


Evaluate research analyze support and assist in the development of computer system requirements that will provide solutions for Cypress-Fairbanks Information Services department including but not limited to Texas Education Agencys (TEA) Public Information Education Management Systems (PEIMS) e-Finance (ERP) eSchoolPlus(SIS) BI Solutions PowerSchool and any other systems that are supported by Cypress-Fairbanks ISD.

QUALIFICATIONS:


Education/Degree(s):

  • Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university or a minimum of five (5) years experience in Information Systems.

Professional experience:

  • Two (2) years experience with Texas K-12 (PowerSchool eSchoolPlus eFinancePlus Laserfiche) business processes and best practices preferred.

Special Knowledge/Skills:

  1. Knowledge of multiple operating systems.
  2. Knowledge of programming languages frameworks and software development methodologies C# preferred.
  3. Knowledge of systems applications.
  4. Knowledge of database management software and applications development tools SQL preferred.
  5. Ability to develop and maintain systems documentation and technical assistance manuals.
  6. Ability to detect and resolve problems in application software.
  7. Possess a strong understanding of appropriate leading-edge technologies.
  8. Knowledge of Business Intelligence (BI) tools such as Power BI Tableau or similar platforms.
  9. Must be a critical thinker with strong problem-solving skills.
  10. Strong organizational written oral communication and interpersonal skills.
  11. Ability to implement policy and procedures.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 250 days

SALARY:

$63955 - TA 5

Salary Range (based on experience) as set by the Board of Trustees

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  1. Assists with all phases of software development including analysis design writing code testing and implementation.
  2. Conducts detailed systems software designed to meet technical and user requirements.
  3. Ensures that developed software is designed to meet technical and user requirements.
  4. Writes code according to specifications to create software that is effective and easy to maintain.
  5. Creates maintains and updates technical manuals and documentation for internally developedsoftware.
  6. Develops and runs special reports and queries.
  7. Identifies application-related problems and recommends solutions.
  8. Assists users in completing major projects and jobs as needed including the collection editing andreporting of data.
  9. Provides programming-related support for administrative applications including but not limited tostudent payroll finance and human resources.
  10. Communicates with administrative and clerical personnel to determine processing needs clarifyrequests develop solutions and provide technical assistance.
  11. Updates and maintains existing software and hardware systems based on the changing needs ofthe District.
  12. Compiles maintains and files all physical and computerized reports records and otherdocuments required.
  13. Provides excellent customer service.
  14. Complies with policies established by federal and state law State Board of Education rules andlocal board policy.
  15. Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment including personal computers and peripherals.
  • Posture: Prolonged sitting; occasional bending/stooping pushing/pulling and twisting.
  • Motion: Repetitive hand motions frequent keyboarding and use of a mouse; occasional reaching.
  • Lifting: Occasional light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds).
  • Environment: Frequent district-wide travel and occasional statewide travel; occasional prolongedand irregular hours.
  • Work after hours.
