Company Overview

Squirrel Hill Health Center (SHHC) is a Federally Qualified Healthcare Center (FQHC) providing patient-driven high-quality comprehensive primary and preventative healthcare and support services for patients of all ages without regard for patients insurance status or ability to pay.

Job Summary

The IT Coordinator will assist in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the technology function at SHHC. Given the .structure of the organization this role will work closely with outsourced providers managing the EHR platform and separately the technical environment. This position is responsible for being a liaison advocate and escalation point for staff to ensure that their operating technology is working effectively to conduct their day-to-day responsibilities coordinate tasks/projects and provide updates to leadership and staff on an as needed basis.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Meet on a weekly basis with relevant vendors i.e. Managed Service Provider and EHR Support Provider to ensure accountability to their commitments on day-to-day items.
  • Review reports on aspects such as Service Level Agreements Ticket Breakdowns Open Items and Technical Change Management requests.
  • Ensure coordination of activities where needed between Vendor Partners and Squirell Hill Health Center staff or other constituents.
  • Communicate with Vendor Partners on policy or procedure changes so they understand what processes to follow.
  • Work with vendors on compiling budgetary items to inform overall technology budget.
  • Send out updates to relevant parties in terms of tasks or projects to staff members.
  • Speak one on one or groups of staff as a liaison between the Vendor Partners and staff needs.
  • Coordinate aspects such as upgrades staff technology training and other activities on an as needed basis.
  • Communicate relevant service abilities of vendors to leadership to ensure optimization of relationships to maximize value.
  • Work on projects of a smaller scale to lead coordination where needed.
  • Where needed create project plans to share with members of the initiative.
  • Partner with the COO and Fractional CIO to develop and maintain an SOP for inventory control tracking and ensuring the security of SHHC IT hardware.
  • Assist the Human Resources department in issuing set-up and training for new hires students and existing staff members.
  • The IT Coordinator will report to the Chief Operations Officer with oversight by the Fractional Chief Information Officer (CIO) and consistently engage with all relevant staff members.

Qualifications and Skills

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent
  • Minimum of 5 years relevant work experience with a preference for experience working within a healthcare organization.
  • Strong organizational skills with keen ability to prioritize and multi-task.
  • Effective interpersonal skills and relationship-building skills while maintaining a customer service mindset.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills ability to present ideas in user-friendly language.
