- Work Environment: CivicActions work is a hybrid workplace that combines both in-office and remote work. CivicActions physical offices are in downtown Toronto and technology will be provided to support both in-office and remote work. This position may involve some evening and weekend work.
Position Purpose
The Director Youth CivicCorps will lead the development implementation and evaluation of CivicActions Youth CivicCorps program. Youth CivicCorps activates the next generation of civic leaders through meaningful placements and learning opportunities. The Director plays a critical role in ensuring the program meets its goals for youth empowerment partner engagement and systems impact.
Working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders the Director will oversee strategic program design financial and contribution agreement management staff supervision stakeholder cultivation and rigorous impact evaluation and reporting to ensure both strong alignment with CivicActions broader mission and our federal funding partners expected deliverables This position is made possible through funding provided by the Government of Canada as part of a contribution agreement supporting CivicActions Youth CivicCorps program.

Key Accountabilities:
- Program Development & Implementation: Direct the Volunteer Manager to ensure all milestones and budget are met. Oversee the external consulting leads commitments and contractual deliverables are met. Optimize the experience for both youth volunteers and host organizations by ensuring adaptable program design.
- Stakeholder Cultivation and Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong internal and external relationships. Cultivate a pipeline of candidate host organizations. With internal management team identify opportunities for collaboration that leverages existing resources to greater outcomes. Ensure readiness and alignment with short- medium- and longer-term programming and organizational goals. Maintain an ongoing and collaborative relationships with the relevant federal officials. Lead project outreach to a range of audiences.
- Impact Measurement and Evaluation: Develop an evaluation framework to measure program outcomes and communicate analysis and insights from project metrics on impact to funders and stakeholders. Ensure continuous improvement. Provide regular reports and strategic insights on program impact to the Senior Management Team (SMT) CEO and Board of Directors to support informed decision-making and organizational accountability.
- Team Management: Manage one direct report (Volunteer Manager) who is managing two staff. Foster an inclusive high-performance team culture aligned with CivicActions values.
- Federal Reporting & Compliance: Lead the coordination and submission of all required reporting under the Government of Canada contribution agreement. Ensure accuracy timeliness and alignment with program outcomes including financial and narrative reporting. Liaise with Government of Canada representatives as needed to fulfill compliance requirements and maintain strong funder relations.
- Financial Management: Work with the finance team to manage project budget ensure compliance with financial policies and processes and provide timely reporting to support decision-making and accountability. Maintain a risk management approach to reporting.
Qualifications and Skills
Required Education Certification and Experience:
- A relevant college/university degree and at least 7 years of experience in program leadership including managing cross-functional teams. Relevant work with organizations to address the needs of underserved communities is an asset.
- Demonstrated experience in strategic program design stakeholder engagement partner stewardship and impact measurement and reporting.
- Proven ability to lead complex projects from inception through execution with strong planning coordination and follow-through.
- Experience building new initiatives or launching new programs ideally involving volunteerism in fast-paced multi-stakeholder environments.
- Experience with government grant and contribution agreement reporting and compliance.
- Strong financial acumen including program budgeting and expense tracking.
- Knowledge of the civic social impact or nonprofit sectors with a preference for youth-related and/or leadership development programs.

- Strong decision-making skills with sound judgment and the ability to anticipate challenges and proactively solve problems.
