Role Overview:
The Structural Senior Project Manager will work independently under the direct supervision of the Engineer of Record to manage the engineering and drafting tasks of the structural team for various projects. This role includes providing structural design support to project team members and acting as the primary point of contact for both internal and external project coordination. The ideal candidate will also be responsible for overseeing the Construction Administration Phase which involves managing shop drawings responding to RFIs (Requests for Information) conducting site visits and organizing OAC (Owner-Architect-Contractor) meetings. Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the structural team for engineering and drafting tasks on projects.
- Provide structural design support to project team members.
- Serve as the primary liaison for project coordination within the structural team and with other disciplines (e.g. architecture MEP).
- Oversee the Construction Administration Phase including reviewing shop drawings RFIs and change orders and attending site visits and OAC meetings as needed.
- Participate in coordination and design review meetings with supervisors clients and owners.
- Discuss project scope and design methodology in work sessions with owner-client agencies.
- Ensure timely and budget-compliant completion of construction documents by coordinating the design and documentation process.
- Develop structural specifications select construction methods determine materials and sizes and perform design calculations.
- Review project documents and incorporate necessary changes.
- Communicate design and coordination details effectively and prepare engineering reports and correspondence.
- Conduct site observations during construction and document findings.
