Job Description

About the job Inpatient Coder - Training Specialist (TWFH)

License: PRN IP

Certificate/Credentials: With CCS Certification (Inpatient)

Work setup: TWFH

Start date: ASAP


Skillset: Non-Voice

Requirements:

  • At least 1 year of Training/ IP Coding experience or relevant expertise
  • Training experience is highly preferred

Shift schedule:

  • Flexible to work on shifting schedule if business asks (weekends night shift holidays)


Responsibilities:

  • Inpatient Coding:
  • Reviewing and analyzing inpatient medical records to assign appropriate codes for diagnoses and procedures.
  • Ensuring compliance with coding guidelines regulations and payer requirements.
  • Maintaining high accuracy and productivity standards in coding practices.
  • Training and Development:
  • Developing and delivering training materials and programs for inpatient coders.
  • Conducting training sessions on coding guidelines regulations and software.
  • Mentoring and providing guidance to junior coders.
  • Staying up-to-date on coding updates and changes and incorporating them into training.
    • Collaboration and Communication:
    • Collaborating with other departments such as HIM clinical staff and billing to ensure accurate coding and billing processes.
    • Communicating effectively with internal and external stakeholders regarding coding-related issues.
