The Team
MCFDs community-based Child and Youth Mental Health (CYMH) teams work in partnership with families and communities to foster positive mental health outcomes and well-being for children and youth and their families. The Integrated Practice clinician works in a regional role with CYMH teams that provide direct clinical services such as intake assessment treatment suicide risk assessment safety plans and crisis intervention for children and youth from birth to age 18 and their families. The regional Integrated Practice clinician will be based in the Abbotsford CYMH MCFD office and provide services throughout the Eastern Fraser Valley. The Integrated Practice clinician will be supported by a CYMH Team Leader in Abbotsford and by a specialized Integrated Practice Team Leader from Burnaby.
The Role
The Integrated Practice position within Child and Youth Mental Health works specifically with children youth and families that are involved with MCFDs teams such as intake family service guardianship and adoptions teams. Through a neurodevelopmental and trauma informed approach the Integrated Practice clinician engages the community care teams of these children youth and families in a collaborative treatment effort to help mitigate the impact of abuse trauma neglect violence and other adverse childhood experiences on their mental health and help increase their environmental and relational stability. The Integrated Practice clinician will also build and strengthen the capacity of multidisciplinary teams that support the children and youth through education training and consultation to community agencies and other service providers such as physicians schools hospitals foster parents and Child Protection family support and resource social workers.

About this Position:
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to 1 day at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.
