What we are looking for
RMD Group is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Human Resources Director to join our hospitality team. As an HR Director you will be responsible for leading the HR department promoting a positive culture and ensuring that the company is in compliance with all employment laws and regulations. You will work closely with the executive team to develop and implement HR strategies that align with our companys goals and objectives.
Major areas of focus will include staff recruiting training and development retention compliance employee experience and company culture.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute a 3year people strategy aligned with company growth plans; present quarterly HR KPIs to executive leadership.
  • Lead talent acquisition workforce planning and employer branding for hourly management and corporate roles.
  • Oversee onboarding training and leadership development programs; ensure 100% compliance with mandatory courses (e.g. CA SexualHarassment Prevention Food Safety).
  • Design and administer competitive compensation structures and benefits programs; stay current with state and City of San Diego wage ordinances.
  • Ensure compliance with federal state and local labor lawsincluding Paid Sick Leave meal/rest breaks predictive scheduling (not in San Diego County) and payequity regulations.
  • Serve as primary liaison with legal counsel for highrisk matters; oversee investigations corrective actions and litigation avoidance.
  • Direct HRIS governance data integrity and workforce analytics; deliver actionable dashboards to operations leadership.
  • Manage workers compensation safety and OSHA programs to reduce incident rates and claims cost.
  • Champion employeeengagement HR initiative programs; conduct annual engagement surveys and action planning.
  • Identify costsavings through vendor negotiations and process automation.
  • Lead and mentor HR team to foster professional growth.
  • Schedule & monitor all state and government yearly filings (ACA Pay Data Report BLMs Workers Compensation Audits & OSHA).
Qualifications
  • 5 years progressive HR leadership experience with at least 3 years in hospitality (restaurant hotel or multiunit hospitality style operation).
  • Bachelors degree in Human Resources Business Administration or related field; SPHR SHRMSCP or equivalent certification preferred.
  • Expert knowledge of California labor code SB616 Paid Sick Leave CFRA/FMLA workers compensation wagehour regulations and City of San Diego labor ordinances.
  • Demonstrated success implementing HRIS and analytics platforms and leveraging data to inform strategy.
  • Strong financial acumen vendornegotiation skills and ability to manage sensitive information.
  • Exceptional communication coaching and changemanagement capabilities.
KPIs & Success Measures (First 1218 Months)
  • Create a turnover reduction plan YoY.
  • Collaborate with the venue management teams to develop and maintain 100% on time completion of mandatory training and policy acknowledgments.
  • Create a benefits cost plan to maintain growth limit costs while maintaining employee satisfaction.
  • Achieve dataaccuracy rate across HRIS dashboards.
  • Resolve employee relations investigations within 15 business days on average.
Certificates License and Registrations:
  • Annual expectations will be et for ongoing learning and may include acquiring certifications licenses and / or registration that are applicable to the responsibilities of this position.
Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to travel frequently between venues within San Diego County; occasional evening and weekend availability required to support restaurant operations. Work is performed in both office settings and onsite in active hospitality environments.
  • Must be able to sit stand or walk for up to 8 hours at a time.
  • Must be able to lift at least 40 pounds safely and properly.
  • Must be able to bend stoop and climb.
  • Must be able to push and pull.
