Customs Manager TCRS4493
HIGH LEVEL OVERVIEW
The Customs Manager leads a small trade compliance team and provides guidance for all companywide trade activities ensuring adherence to U.S. Customs and other government agency rules regulations.
This is a hybrid position after initial onboarding and training period based in Lafayette IN.
Relocation assistance is available.
EXPECTATIONS
- Set goals and objectives for trade compliance team
- Develop and implement trade compliance procedures and processes
- Oversee Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) operations maintaining inventory control and regulatory filings
- Manage internal audits assess risks and implement corrective actions
- Translate complex trade compliance regulations into operational processes and strategic initiatives
- Monitors SOPs KPIs and provide leadership updates on trade related activities
- Manages Customs Brokers and Freight Forwarders
- Foster open communication with internal & external stakeholders to ensure compliance
- Strong data and analytical skills with proficient MS Excel knowledge
ESSENTIALS
- Bachelors degree in finance International Business or a related field
- 8 years experience in trade compliance preferably with a manufacturer
- Expert knowledge of import/export regulations; HTS COO Valuation FTA AD/CVD drawback etc.
- Experience with FTZ operations and bonded transportation and storage
- Experience with trade automation software Descartes E2Open SAP GTS ACE
- Strong attention to detail critical thinking skills and ability to manage multiple projects
- Proven people leader skills
- Licensed Customs Broker preferred
