The Opportunity
The workspaces team is responsible for establishing workspaces as a source of truth in Postman. Workspaces are the core of our Postman API Platform and are responsible for enabling seamless API collaboration. With more than 30M users on our platform this team is responsible for solving challenges in API collaboration across multiple pillars like API development testing prototyping discovery distribution & change management. The team owns tier-0/1 business critical systems handling 21M requests on a daily basis and this will just continue to grow. The work of this team directly impacts Postmans end users experience and business in multiple ways thereby contributing towards our larger organization goals like Monthly Active Users Self-serve revenue & Sales-serve revenue.
What Youll Do
Implement and maintain features improve performance and quality of Postmans products
Interact with Product Design and Engineering teams to spec build test and deliver new features
Improve quality and reliability by improving existing tests and writing new ones
Work on the scalability aspects of features and services that collection team owns.
Work with the manager for the roadmap and SLAs for the micro-services that you own.
Perform code reviews and advocate better practises for software engineering by mentoring and encouraging others around you to build a quality product.
Design & build any additional internal tooling required to ease the development & maintenance of the product.
About You
You have at least 3 years of experience developing complex distributed software applications at scale.
Youve experience with high level programming languages - e.g. Python Ruby Go. We code primarily in and Python.
Strong understanding of web fundamentals.
Strong knowledge of Database fundamentals especially on the performance aspects such as optimising queries schema design indexing caching.
Experience with cloud computing and distributed systems
You possess strong Computer Science fundamentals - Algorithms Networking and Operating Systems and are familiar with various JavaScript tools frameworks and development practices.
Has a point of view and is comfortable and prior experience in collaborating and respectfully challenging other stakeholders such as PM EM etc.
You write testable maintainable code thats easy to understand.
You have curiosity about how things work and to learn new things.
Good written and verbal communication.
Nice to Have
- Previous experience with systems with scale and familiarity with problems related to scalability and performance
A learning mindset and the willingness to do beyond whats being told.
An innate curiosity about how things work under the hood.

This position requires you to be present in our Bangalore office on Mondays Wednesdays & Fridays.
