Job Description
JOB DESCRIPTION
Summary
The RedZone Researcher helps to ensure factual accuracy and editorial consistency for fast-paced live RedZone show.
Responsibilities
- Ensures every aspect of the show is factually accurate including graphics segments and in-the-moment reactions to games
- Works closely with producers editors and talent on show content from planning meetings to live production
- Utilizes broad and extensive football knowledge to improve show anticipate needs and react quickly
- Has in depth understanding of football statistics data and Next Gen Stats
- Works within our standards for high quality research content while maintaining tireless work ethic on a consistent basis
- Helps to identify new and emerging statistical trends
- Collaborate with research team as needed on best practices and show needs
- Must be able to adhere to strict deadlines and react quickly to breaking news
- Recommends changes to enhance current research methods and standards
- Strong attention to detail and communication skills are imperative
Required Qualifications
- 1-3 years professional experience working with statistics or covering or analyzing sports events and news
- Undergraduate degree
- Must have strong foundation of knowledge about current and historical football statistics news events and milestones
- Must be technologically savvy with strong command of Excel
Other Key Attributes / Characteristics
- Experience in sports media
- Previous work experience working for or covering the NFL
- Proven track record of success working with high profile broadcasters
- Proven ability to work collaboratively and on deadline
- Knowledge of football research databases/resources a plus (i.e. Pro Football Reference Pro Football Focus Rotoworld and/or )
- Thorough knowledge of football media landscape including emerging platforms and competing properties
- Detailed knowledge of television production processes including awareness of key editorial roles
Terms / Expected Hours of Work
- 40 hours / week
- 7-month employment period
Salary / Pay Range
