About the team
We are looking for brilliant software engineers who have a passion for consumer products and want to join an energetic team that is changing the way people think about travel. We ship code daily A/B test extensively and have a primary role in creating the product from inception to implementation. Theres much to do and youll be responsible for making some real cool stuff happen.
Our APIs internal services and web app are at the core of our stable of software thats reinventing mobility. Be a member of a small team of talented engineers and designers and play a major role in shaping an exciting app thats changing how people travel and think about car ownership.
Learn more about our Engineering team here: you will do Participates in team guild and cross functional review processes relevant to their team. Accountable for feature metrics and understands how the proposed solution addresses business needs. Recommends solutions by articulating opportunities and tradeoffs concerning both technical and business value. Estimates and manages project deadlines and mentors the team on priorities. A acts as the technical lead for complex features in cross-functional teams. Contributes to defining strategic direction planning the roadmap escalating issues and synthesizing feedback to ensure team success. Ensures that knowledge is shared amongst the team and does not position themselves or others as a single point of failure. Advises manager product and design with insights and recommendations to improve the teams productivity. Participates in the hiring and onboarding process beyond their immediate team (conducting technical interviews identifying opportunities and evangelizing Turo). Leads and contributes to more significant initiatives on their platform that may require collaboration across engineering including other platforms and domains. Proactively identifies opportunities to improve systems maintainability scalability and reliability. Telecommuting is an option. Some travel to Turo offices may be required. Minimum Requirements: Masters degree (or its foreign degree equivalent) in Computer Science Engineering (any field) or a related quantitative discipline and five (5) years of experience in the job offered or in any occupation in related field OR Bachelors degree (or its foreign degree equivalent) in Computer Science Engineering (any field) or a related quantitative discipline and seven (7) years of
progressively responsible experience in the job offered or in any occupation in related field.

For this role the target base salary range in San Francisco CA is $218000.00 - $274000.00 annually. This role is also eligible for equity and benefits. In general our ranges reflect the market-based target for new hire salaries based on the level and location of the role. Within the range individual pay is determined by objective factors assessed during the application and interview process such as job-related skills experience and relevant education or training.
