The AWS Security organization is looking for an exceptional individual to lead our Enterprise Risk Reduction team. This Security Manager will own the development of internal engagement strategies for addressing risk to Amazons enterprise environment at scale. The right candidate has good mix of deep technical security knowledge strong communications and keen judgment to strike the right balance between security outcomes and business requirements. We need someone whos comfortable building teams developing staff and leading by example
This leader is expected to have a track record of delivering high quality results and best-in-class solutions in a fast-moving environment. We are a mixed discipline team that identifies opportunities to improve the security posture of all AWS infrastructure and drives their implementation across the company. We are looking for leaders who like to solve problems and remove obstacles. The ability to prioritize communicate clearly and compellingly and drive a high level of focus and excellence within a strong team is crucial. If you enjoy leading cross-functional teams of engineers developers and program managers and you are skilled at organizing driving and communicating laterally and upwards this position will provide you with a challenging opportunity to work alongside world-class talent in solving complex and far-reaching problems.
This role will be located in either Northern Virginia or Seattle WA
Key job responsibilities
* Maintain a prioritized roadmap to address gaps and improve practices.
* Communicate effectively across leadership teams.
* Drive effective teamwork communication collaboration and commitment across multiple groups as part of the organizations security effort.
* Communicate project issues and status in a concise accurate and professional manner.
* Coordinate with partner security teams to build tracking and reporting capabilities to drive down risks.
* Develop and innovate on global security strategies providing clear narrative and effective tactics to engage internal Amazon and AWS service teams to improve internal and external services
* Lead a team of security professionals to support the business and drive down risk across Amazon.
* Proactively build and manage relationships with key internal stakeholders across a range of businesses and geographies.

- Bachelors degree in Computer Science related field or relevant work experience
- 5 years of security industry experience.
- 5 years managing and building teams (including coaching and mentoring)
- Strong and proven ability to communicate technical concepts to a non-technical audience and stakeholders
- Masters degree
- Strong information security risk-based prioritization abilities
- Information security professional certifications encouraged (SANS GIAC CISSP etc.)
- Strong leadership and excellent communication with the ability to drive consensus and articulate recommendations and trade-offs to senior executives
- Experience creating metrics to measure risk and impact
- Ability to think and innovate at scale
- Familiarity with AWS Services and Solutions
- Multidisciplinary experience in intelligence incident response forensics program management and product development.
- Demonstrated ability to deal with ambiguity in a rapidly changing business environment
- A highly collaborative engaging style that builds relationships effectively

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $147200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $254500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
