Minimum Requirements:
- Ph.D. degree in a related field is required.
Preferred Requirements:
- Ph.D. in computing teacher education or a related field is required.
- An established record of research work in computing and teacher education.
- Strong background in mixed methods and qualitative research approaches.
- Demonstrated interest and expertise in computer science teacher education or related areas such as broadening participation in computing teacher education faculty development and equitable computer science.
- Track record of publications in peer-reviewed journals.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Prior experience with grant writing or research project management is desirable but not required.
- Experience with facilitating workshops and community of practice in computing education is preferred.

WHAT WILL YOU DO:
The Postdoctoral Research Associate (AC) will work closely with the principal investigator (PI) co-PIs and graduate research assistants of the PrepareCS grant project to perform the research activities of this Google-funded project in computer science teacher education. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and collaborative research environment and connect with a wider network of scholars conducting research in computer science education and teacher education. The position is in-person and begins August 1 2025.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Conduct empirical research in computer science teacher education including designing and implementing research plans and executing studies.
- Independently or collaboratively collect qualitative and quantitative data through online and in-person data collection activities (e.g. interviews surveys and artifacts).
- Manage (cleaning categorizing organizing) and analyze data in existing and new datasets using appropriate data analysis tools with a focus on mixed methods analyses.
- Contribute to research dissemination by conducting literature reviews writing journal articles preparing professional conference proposals publishing research findings in peer-reviewed journals and presenting at conferences.
- Analyze data using collaborative qualitative and mixed-methods analysis software.
- Write up papers from new and existing datasets.
- Contribute expertise (e.g. disciplinary educational methodological) to ongoing research projects in the PrepareCS project.
- Manage and support professional learning activities (e.g. online community of practice and meetings summer workshops research colloquium) with participants from other higher education institutions across states.
- Serve as a lead on research projects and mentor graduate research assistants.
- Assist in grant writing and reporting activities for research/grant funding agencies.
