Raytheons Airborne Multi-Mission Electronics Department part of Integrated Electrical Solution mission area is seeking an experienced Senior Firmware Design Engineer to design and develop power conversion technologies for the airborne military applications.
What You Will Do
Support work in the Hardware/Firmware Engineering Department at the Electronic Warfare Systems
Support work on new product development based on descriptions and specifications provided by our customers.
Partner with integrated product teams to design develop and manufacture complex state-of-the-art systems for airborne naval and land-based military applications.
Activities include detailed digital design embedded systems and FPGA development.
Complete specific tasks including circuit analysis circuit simulation FPGA programming design documentation design verification and testing and integration of hardware and software at the level of electronic components and circuit boards.
This 1st shift role is 100% onsite and based in Goleta CA.
Qualifications You Must Have
Typically requires a degree in Science Technology Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum 5 years of prior work experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of prior work experience.
Experience with basic lab equipment (i.e. oscilloscopes signal generators etc.).
Experience designing debugging and/or testing electronics hardware.
Experience working in a team environment.
Experience using engineering tools (i.e. Vivado Quartus etc.) for design (i.e. VHDL Verilog etc.).
Experience in one or more of the following areas:
Digital Signal Processing
Intel/Altera AMD/Xilinx and/or Microsemi FPGAs
Designing in Matlab/Simulink with DSP Builder and HDL Coder blocksets
Digital hardware design and firmware integration
The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued Secret security clearance post-start is required. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Qualifications We Prefer
Experience with RF Signal Processing
Experience with RF processing functions (i.e. channelizer signal detection pulse estimation deinterleaving etc.)
Experience in airborne embedded electronics
