Job Description

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:The Network Administrator is responsible for the configuration administration and management of the districts wired and wireless networks. The Network Administrator will work with the district technology team to integrate systems and deliver network services to students and staff. Primary duties include:Configures administers and maintains the districts network including all network hardware software wireless systems and Internet connections for the districts buildingsBasic server administration tasks including updates servicing monitoring and troubleshootingAct as a next escalation contact for techniciansAssesses network security and performance on an ongoing basis and adapts as neededEnsures the security of the districts network and systemsInvestigate troubleshoot resolve and document problems and their resolutionsMaintains confidentiality in regards to data stored processed or accessed on the networkCommunicates with vendors as neededProvide Director of Technology with timely updates on issues regarding network availabilityAssist Director of Technology with preparing capital and operational budgets regarding networked systemsProvide end-user support and basic training to technology staffMaintain an inventory of networking equipment document network topology and change log for networked systemsAll other duties as assignedPersonal and Professional QualificationsExcellent people skills and good communicationAbility to research software and hardware related issues to resolutionAbility to work with all levels of staffMust be a user-friendly team player with excellent interpersonal and organizational skills and initiativeMust adapt easily to work assignments additional priorities and new proceduresAbility to handle multiple assignments; prioritize and identify needs and solve problems independentlyAbility to move technology equipment (up to 50lbs.) Ability to remain current with both professional skill set and district technology policiesActively participates in professional development opportunities provided by the district
