About the Job

Were looking for an experienced DZ license holder to be our new sweeper driver at our Walker Niagara Landfill location. Youll work primarily as part of our landfill team keeping private and public roads clear of dust mud and debris. You need to be highly detailed conscientious and understand that the quality of your work reflects on the reputation of the company as a whole.

What Youll Be Doing

You will primarily operate our street sweeping equipment though you will also be expected to become trained and efficient in the operation of landfill compactors and tipper equipment. You will also perform other ground maintenance duties as necessary.

Because you will also be operating on public roads you should be a conscientious person who is able to deal tactfully and courteously with driving members of the public.

Heres What You Need

  • Physically fit and capable of lifting up to 50lbs in a physically demanding work environment
  • Experience operating heavy equipment or machines
  • Ability to use a variety of tools and equipment
  • Familiarity with processing & mobile equipment
  • Knowledge of industry safety practices
  • Common Core training is an asset
  • Experience in aggregates construction or landfill operations is an asset
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid DZ license and clean driving record

Typical hours are Monday to Friday with occasional Saturdays and overtime as wage is $29.17/hour. Plus a $0.50 premium for a valid DZ license.
