Job Description

A production site in Lilla Edet is expanding its Safety team and is currently looking for a skilled and motivated Safety Specialist to support the factory and management in advancing safety initiatives across the organization.

About the Site

The facility operates as a paper mill with an annual capacity of approximately 100000 tonnes. It includes several production stages: steam plant pulp processing paper production conversion logistics and support functions. With a workforce of around 400 employees and a history spanning more than 140 years the site is known for its friendly atmosphere and a strong focus on safety and continuous improvement.

The organization places a high priority on maintaining a safe and healthy work environment supported by a structured and proactive safety framework.

About the Role

This role plays a key part in supporting and driving systematic safety and work environment improvements across the site. As a Safety Specialist you will take on a proactive and hands-on role helping shape and guide how safety work is developed and implemented.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a subject-matter expert in work environment and safety supporting factory teams and managers in applying safety standards and internal guidelines.
  • Develop implement and monitor safety routines in line with legal requirements and internal directives.
  • Plan and lead risk analyses coordinate safety management activities and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Analyze and follow up on risks incidents and accidents; lead and participate in investigations.
  • Contribute to projects as an expert in occupational health and safety including compliance with ISO 45001 and participation in audits.
  • Conduct training and promote a strong safety culture across all departments.

Who You Are

  • You have formal education or significant work experience in occupational safety health or a related field.
  • You are driven by a genuine passion for creating a safe and healthy workplace.
  • You bring practical experience in structured risk management methods
  • You have excellent communication skills and the ability to engage and educate employees at all levels.
  • You are fluent in both Swedish and English written and spoken.
  • Experience in machine safety and knowledge of the Machinery Directive are strong assets.
  • Familiarity with Swedish Work Environment Authority roles BAS-P and BAS-U is preferred.
