We are seeking a skilled and experienced Electrical Harness Engineer to oversee the design assembly and installation of electrical harness systems. The ideal candidate will also have a solid background in project management ensuring successful delivery of electrical systems in line with technical specifications budgets and timelines.
Key Responsibilities:
Electrical Harness Design
- Design complex electrical harnesses using CAD tools (e.g. CATIA V5 Siemens NX Zuken ).
- Develop wiring schematics connector pin-outs and routing diagrams.
- Select appropriate components wires and protection devices based on system requirements and standards (e.g. MIL-STD IPC/WHMA-A-620 SAE AS50881).
- Collaborate with electrical and mechanical design teams to integrate harnesses into system architecture.
- Ensure designs meet EMI/EMC thermal and mechanical constraints.
Electrical Harness Assembly
- Create and review harness manufacturing documentation including BOMs cut lists and work instructions.
- Support the manufacturing team during harness build processes.
- Perform first-article inspections and support quality assurance testing.
- Provide training and oversight for harness technicians and assemblers.
Harness Installation
- Develop installation drawings routing paths and mounting strategies.
- Support on-site installation of harnesses into vehicles enclosures or systems.
- Perform continuity tests and ensure compliance with system schematics.
- Resolve installation-related issues in collaboration with integration teams.
Project Management
- Plan and manage electrical harness projects from concept to delivery.
- Define project scope goals deliverables and timelines.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams including design procurement manufacturing and QA.
- Track project progress manage risks and report to stakeholders.
- Control budgets and ensure timely delivery of project milestones.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering Electronics or related field.
- 10 years of experience in electrical harness design and integration.
- 2 years of experience in project or program management roles.
- Strong understanding of harness design standards and industry regulations.
- Proficient in harness design software and project management tools (e.g. MS Project Jira).
- Excellent communication leadership and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- PMP or equivalent project management certification.
- Experience with aerospace/automotive/military platforms.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Hands-on experience in field installations and customer interaction.
