The Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine seeks a Laboratory Technician to support the Basran Lab. This technician will be responsible for assisting in the development of multi-modal machine learning models in the veterinary setting focusing on medical image analysis for feline diseases. The technician must also have a strong background in physics and medicine including radiation transport knowledge of radiation oncology treatment planning systems and radiation measurement techniques.
Required Qualifications
Bachelors Degree in related field with 2-4 years of experience or equivalent combination
Strong background in computing science and physics
Ability to cultivate and develop inclusive working relationships with students faculty staff and community members.
Familiarity with image processing data processing methods using Python Java and Matlab.
Familiarity with radiation dose transport software such as Varian Eclipse or (GEANT4) Monte Carlo packages.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelors of Science in Physics or Applied Physics
Important Details about the Position
This is an onsite position located in Ithaca NY.
This is a full-time one-year term position with potential for extension contingent upon funding and performance.
We are unable to provide Visa sponsorship now or in the future for this position.
Relocation assistance will not be provided for this position.
While the regular business hours are 8:00 am to 5:00 pm the specific schedule may change to meet the needs of the business requiring employees to work early mornings evenings weekends and University holidays and scheduled breaks.
