Job Description
We are seeking a Technical Director of Architecture to provide firmwide leadership in the delivery of complex high-performance design projects across the life sciences laboratory and manufacturing sectors. This is a pivotal senior-level role that blends deep technical knowledge with mentorship quality oversight and executive-level project leadership.
You will be responsible for ensuring design and documentation excellence across all projects while directly overseeing a team of Project Managers and senior technical staff. This role requires a confident leader with fluency in building systems code compliance advanced technical detailing and client/stakeholder coordination-particularly within regulated environments such as GMP FDA or cleanroom design.
-10 years of architectural experience with 5 years in a senior technical or firmwide leadership role.
-Proven leadership experience in life science laboratory manufacturing or other highly technical facility types.
-Expertise in U.S. construction methods building systems and regulatory standards (including IBC ADA FDA GMP etc.).
-Strong technical and organizational leadership with an emphasis on mentorship team management and cross-disciplinary coordination.
-Advanced Revit proficiency and deep experience managing BIM workflows; familiarity with BIM 360 and digital QA/QC tools.
-Extensive experience in construction documentation detailing code review and field coordination.
