Position Summary: Our Child Development Services (CDS) department is looking for a full-time Child and Adult Care Food Program Specialist. This role involves providing technical assistance training and coordinating training for family childcare providers.
Key Responsibilities: The position encompasses both administrative and direct service responsibilities The position encompasses both administrative and direct service responsibilities and operates under the general direction and supervision of the CACFP Supervisor. *Please note: This position will require regular day travel each month in addition to early-morning evening and occasional weekend travel throughout the Central region of Virginia. Required Qualifications: - A minimum of a high school diploma is required.
- Preferred candidates will hold an appropriate degree (i.e. child development social work or another human services field) from an accredited institution and/or possess at least three years of professional experience providing direct services to children and their families or any equivalent combination of related training and experience.
Preferred Qualifications: - Must demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with a diverse client population. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are organizational skills and attention to detail are essential.
- Experience in documenting service delivery overseeing and monitoring meal services for selected childcare programs along with a demonstrated ability to provide technical assistance is required.
- A background in early childhood education and/or nutrition is preferred.
