Job Description

As part of the Application Development Team (ADT) you are responsible for the functional behavior of the boiler. The control units developed and maintained by the development team are used in appliances developed and produced by our colleagues at various Bosch Home Comfort locations.

In your role as an Application Software Engineer you will contribute broadly to the maintenance of existing features and the development of new functions that enhance the comfort and efficiency of heating appliances for homes and buildings.

As a member of an agile SCRUM team with lifetime responsibility for the control units you will also:

  • Implement and test required functions and algorithms in software
  • Provide the necessary documentation and
  • Ensure that your software is released in accordance with Bosch quality procedures.

You will take into account the parameterization of the software for our internal customers allowing it to be adapted to the specific needs and characteristics of individual boiler implementations. To further optimize our work you will also contribute to automating and streamlining the entire development and release process.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Developing control software based on product and process requirements.
  • Discussing and defining concepts with both internal and externally located developers.
  • Designing documenting and implementing softwareincluding unit testsbased on the defined architecture.
  • Implementing new features especially in Simulink C DSL and Python (for pipeline development).
  • Releasing software versions in line with quality procedures.
  • Developing new automated tests and build features to improve workflow efficiency.
  • Collaborating with other Bosch Home Comfort departments worldwide to align specifications and ensure software meets required standards.
  • Supporting continuous improvement of software development processes and methods within the department.

Qualifications :

  • BSc or MSc in Software Engineering Computer Science (CS) Electrical Engineering (EE) or a related field with at least 3 years of relevant work experience or equivalent level.
  • Experience with Simulink C and Python is essential.
  • Solid understanding of modern software development techniques and methodologies.
  • Hands-on experience with software debugging and testing.
  • Strong analytical skills proactive mindset dynamic attitude and a hands-on mentality.
  • Experience with Agile development is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written in English.
