Job Description

APAC Legal Team

The Paralegal role will sit within a professional team of six legal professionals in IMCs Sydney office and will work closely with domestic and international business partners and colleagues to support IMCs businesses throughout the Asia Pacific region. The Sydney-based team also works with Legal teams based in the IMC Groups offices in Amsterdam Chicago and Mumbai. The Legal team is involved in an exciting range of corporate and commercial employment financial markets technology and intellectual property work across the Asia Pacific Region.

Your Core Responsibilities:

  • The successful candidate will report to the Deputy General Counsel APAC and provide administrative support to the APAC Legal team and also assist with general legal review and research tasks and company secretarial work.
  • Assisting with the review and drafting of a range of contracts and agreements (e.g. confidentiality agreements and employment contracts).
  • Arranging document execution and managing appropriate filing/record keeping (physical and electronic copies).
  • Assisting with diary management for the Legal team and providing other administrative support as required.
  • Researching legal and regulatory issues and updating legal team knowledge resources.
  • Assisting with employment law matters and associated HR policies.
  • Assisting with company secretarial work for IMC entities including preparing board minutes and assisting with company filings.
  • Assisting with insurance work including renewals for global and local policies and liaising with our local insurance brokers.
  • Planning team functions and events.
  • Liaising with various internal and external stakeholders.
  • Monitoring emails and responding to ad hoc requests.

Your Skills and Experience:

  • Prior administration experience. Legal assistant paralegal or company secretary experience is desirable.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (including Outlook Word PowerPoint Excel). Prior experience with DocuSign or other contract execution and management platforms is desirable but not essential.
  • Language skills relevant to the APAC region (e.g. Mandarin Japanese Korean) are considered an asset.
  • Excellent time management and organsational skills with strong ability to prioritise and meet deadlines.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • A self-starter with a can-do attitude who enjoys taking the initiative.
  • A flexible friendly team player approach with well-developed interpersonal skills.
