Position Overview

The Graphic Designer serves Cincinnati Public Schools (CPS) students and families by delivering high-quality brand-centered design and art direction across all marketing and communications platforms. This role is instrumental in promoting CPSs equity-focused engagement strategy through compelling visual storytelling supporting marketing campaigns digital content executive communications and districtwide initiatives. The Graphic Designer will champion the CPS visual brand develop campaign assets manage external creative vendors and collaborate closely with internal stakeholders to ensure all design work reflects the districts mission: to prepare students not only for amazing futures but for life.

Responsibilities

Brand and Visual Strategy

  • Manage the visual brand for CPS its schools and initiatives
  • Support school marketing through brand logo and toolkit development
  • Oversee the asset development and overarching design strategy for CPS Here for Kids campaign
  • Strategize and communicate closely with the Marketing and Communications Director to optimize and redesign new and existing collateral to support the Superintendents Goals
  • Manage contractors for design and production support
  • Work closely with the creative team on campaign development and execute to consistent standards





Campaign and Content Design

  • Develop campaign assets web banner suites social media imagery and various website graphics
  • Provide design support to cross-functional teams as needed (e.g. Code of Conduct HR Recruiting Campaign)
  • Assist in other design-related tasks and projects as required

Supervision & Collaboration

  • Demonstrate design and brand leadership through project management and design direction for CPSs external marketing and recruitment programs
  • Deliver design support for executive communications for the Superintendent and engagement programs such as direct mail and events
  • Support streamlining of creative processes to increase productivity and quality of executions

Project Management and Creative Direction

  • Demonstrate design and brand leadership through project management and design direction for CPSs external marketing and recruitment programs
  • Deliver design support for executive communications for the Superintendent and engagement programs such as direct mail and events
  • Support streamlining of creative processes to increase productivity and quality of executions

Collaboration and Communication

  • Work with other designers copywriters and content creators to ensure a cohesive visual narrative
  • Must be a strong team player with a positive attitude and enthusiasm to get things done
  • Excellent communication (both written and verbal) interpersonal skills and experience

Other Duties

  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned by your manager
  • Highly motivated self-starter with the ability to manage multiple competing priorities
  • Detail- and quality-oriented approach to creative execution

Qualifications Education and Work Experience

  • Bachelors degree in Graphic Design Fine Arts or a related field
  • Minimum of 7 years of professional graphic design experience
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator Photoshop InDesign) and other design software
  • Strong portfolio showcasing a range of design projects
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced collaborative environment
  • A keen eye for detail and a passion for creating compelling visual narratives





Contract Salary and Benefits

  1. Salary: Associate 1
  2. Salary Range: Salary is commensurate with experience per the Cincinnati Association of Administrators and Supervisors
