Florida Atlantic University invites applications nominations or inquiries for the position of Provost and Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs (provost).

Florida Atlantic with its largest campus in Boca Raton Florida is a dynamic national public research university with campuses and sites strategically located along Floridas southeast coast stretching from Fort Pierce to Fort Lauderdale and situated between Americas Everglades and the Atlantic Ocean.

Reporting directly to the president and as a member of the senior executive leadership team the provost serves as the universitys chief academic officer and is responsible for providing leadership to achieve excellence in teaching research scholarship student success and service.

The next provost will hold a Ph.D. or terminal degree in their field of study and possess a minimum of 10 years of executive leadership experience ideally having served as a provost dean vice provost or in a similar senior academic position and have national or international prominence as a researcher and scholar. Additionally the new provost must bring a commitment to the universitys mission shared governance and academic freedom; have experience advancing research infrastructure and graduate education at a research-intensive institution; show evidence of prior success in strengthening student success outcomes enhancing faculty recruitment and development and securing external funding; align with the Board of Trustees values and the universitys student success mission; excel in data-informed decision-making; have strong data-driven financial management experience; embrace a culture of viewpoint diversity and open intellectual exchange on campus; and possess a strong understanding of Floridas performance-based funding metrics and the states preeminent university designation.
