Onsite This role is categorized as onsite. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Tonawanda New York on a full-time basis. This position may require working off-shift and overtime.
The Role
As a Quality Engineer your role involves serving as a technical liaison between production operations engineering suppliers and supplier quality. You will be responsible for problem-solving both internal and customer-driven issues. Work will include working on the Manufacturing Floor to support Operations and in an office environment.
What Youll Do
Follow and enforce all Site Safety Guidelines.
Interact with production and engineering on issues and containments.
Interact with Team Leaders and Group Leaders to solve problems
Audit elements of the GM Quality Manual and GMS Built-In Quality Statements.
Review and approve Standardized Work for the assigned department ensuring compliance with Tonawanda Quality Standards.
Drive problem-solving and lead resolution for supplier internal and customer quality issues.
Ensure effective containment and resolution for identified non-conforming products.
Communicate emerging issues.
Support the PTR Process by running PTRs and evaluating their impact on the product/function.
Review and approve Plant Floor Change Management Requests for the assigned department.
Support department scrap reduction initiatives.
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)
Experience in a manufacturing environment.
Strong critical thinking and analytical skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
High level of integrity with the ability to deal with ambiguity and work independently.
This position may require the ability to work on an off-shift and may require overtime based on business needs.
What Will Give You A Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)
Bachelors degree in Engineering.
Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills to effectively collaborate with various levels of the organization.
Ability to solve difficult and complex problems by identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
Willingness to ask questions take initiative and be resourceful.
Knowledge of GMS principles and practices.
This job is not eligible for relocation benefits. Any relocation costs would be the responsibility of the selected candidate.
Compensation
The expected base compensation for this role is: $68900.00 - $105700.00. Actual base compensation within the identified range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.
Bonus Potential: An incentive pay program offers payouts based on company performance job level and individual performance.
