The Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coachs primary responsibility is the coaching and instruction of the strength and conditioning programs. Approximately 80% of the Assistant Coachs responsibility is dedicated to the instruction of strength and conditioning through weight room/facility training and classroom training through use of video and other teaching techniques. Approximately 20% of the Assistant Coachs responsibility is working alongside coaching staffs and other administrative duties. 1. Assist in the coaching and instruction of the student-athletes in proper techniques and decision-making in strength and conditioning programs. 2. Perform routine daily responsibilities related to the operation of the sports program. Work could include computer data-entry routine record keeping and compliance logs required the NCAA. 3. Assist in recruiting acceptable student-athletes for the UNF athletic program. 4. Perform other duties as prescribed by head coach. Could include clinic participation; scheduling; oversee equipment needs; overseeing part time staff or other related functions. 5. Adheres to all institution conference and NCAA rules and regulations. 6. Reports all known NCAA violations in accordance with institutional conference and NCAA policies and guidelines. 7. Develop yearlong cycles designed for all UNF athletic teams in conjunction with the goals set forth by the sport coaching staff and Strength and Conditioning Coach. Works directly with the sports medicine staff developing and monitoring rehabilitation programs and post-rehabilitations of student-athletes.
Marginal Functions:
May assist in other athletic programs as determined by the Athletic Director. Solicitation of outside income for the Strength & Conditioning program. Attendance at Osprey Club fund raising projects. Public speaking at civic clubs etc. to promote the overall athletic program. It is an expectation of the Athletic Director that coaches and administrative/support staff will support to a reasonable extent the activities of sports within the total program via attendance at scheduled events.
Departmental Requirements:
Coaching experience at the Division I level is preferred along with collegiate playing experience.
Supervision Exercised:
Assist in supervising volunteers student assistants etc.
Supervision Received:
Reports to the Head Coach. The incumbent develops procedures for performing a variety of complex duties within established guidelines; has considerable freedom while the work is in process and receives instructions on new assignments.
Level of Public Contact:
Actively participates in the promotion of the Strength & Conditioning program through fund-raising activities speeches clinics etc.
Monetary Responsibility:
Assist with operating the Strength & Conditioning program within the allotted budget.
Policy-making and/or Interpretation:
Duties are performed in the framework of the rules and regulations of the National Collegiate Athletic Association the State University System the ASUN Conference and the University.
Program Direction and Development:
May assist in other athletic programs as determined by the Director of Athletics. Assists with the discipline conduct and image of the student-athletes as it relates to the program and the University.
Statement of Responsibility for Confidential Data:
Gathers and analyzes data from student records which must be submitted to the NCAA SUS The Conference or University officials protecting the anonymity of the student-athlete where possible. Monitors academic progress of individual student-athletes who have given written permission for such action.

Required Qualifications: This position requires either (a) Masters degree from an acceptable accredited institution in a directly related area of specialization; (b) Bachelors degree from an acceptable accredited institution in a directly related area of specialization and two years of experience directly related to the job functions; or (c ) 6 years of direct experience.

The holder of this position is responsible for any NCAA and Atlantic Sun Conference bylaws and guidelines that a member of the UNF Athletic Compliance Department provides in addition to all UNF regulations. The individual must also assure that NCAA Conference and UNF regulations are followed to the best of their knowledge and any violations thereof are reported to UNF Athletic Compliance.
