QUALIFICATIONS:
- Masters degree from a recognized accredited college or university required with additional graduate study preferred;
- Valid standard administrator certification required;
- Demonstrated experience with instructional leadership and teacher appraisal;
- Minimum of four (4) years of successful administrative or supervisory experience in public schools with strong preference given to applicants with a deep understanding of effective virtual and/or hybrid learning models technological proficiency and experience with online learning;
- Knowledge of TEAs regulations and SB 569 legal requirements for virtual instruction;
- Exemplifies instructional leadership personal scholarship a collaborative leadership style personal integrity strong interpersonal skills and effective communication skills.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive strategic plan for the Virtual Pathway program that supports district academic priorities including but not limited to graduation rates attendance rates STAAR and EOC progress measures.
- Build a strong virtual school culture focused on student engagement and academic achievement.
- Monitor instructional and managerial processes to ensure that program activities are related toprogram outcomes and use findings to take corrective actions. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the virtual program to ensure continuous improvement.
- Support professional development for virtual teachers staff and administrators related to best practices in online instruction technology integration and student engagement.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal laws board policy and Texas Education Agency (TEA) requirements related to virtual instruction.
- Collaborate with Technology Student Services Special Education and other departments to support student access accommodations and services in the virtual setting.
- Provide instructional resources and materials to support teaching staff in accomplishinginstructional goals.
- Foster collegiality and team-building among staff members. Encourage their active involvementin the decision-making process.
- Provide two-way communication with the superintendent staff students parents andcommunity.
- Communicate and promote expectations for high-level performance to staff and students. Recognize excellence and achievement.
- Ensure the effective and quick resolution of conflicts.
- Build a common vision for school improvement with staff. Direct planning activities and put programs in place with staff to ensure the attainment of the mission of virtual learning.
- Identify analyze and apply research findings (e.g. effective school correlates) to promoteschool improvement.
- Develop and set annual performance objectives for each of the Academic ExcellenceIndicators using the planning process and site-based decision-making committee.
- Develop maintain and use information systems and records necessary to show program progress on performance objectives addressing each Academic Excellence Indicator.
- Interview select and orient new staff. Approve all personnel assigned to virtual learning.
- Define expectations for staff performance with regard to instructional strategies classroom management and communication with the public.
- Assign and promote virtual learning personnel.
- Make recommendations to the superintendent on termination suspension or nonrenewal ofemployees assigned to virtual learning.
- Confer with subordinates regarding their professional growth. Work with them to develop andaccomplish improvement goals.
- Comply with district policies and state and federal laws and regulations affecting virtual learning.
- Develop virtual learning budgets based on documented program needs estimated enrollmentpersonnel and other fiscal needs. Keep programs within budget limits. Maintain fiscal report fiscal information.
- Compile maintain and file all physical and computerized reports records and other documentsrequired including accurate and timely reports of maximum attendance to requisition textbooks.
- Manage the use of the virtual learning facility. Supervise maintenance of the facility to ensure a clean orderlyand safe environment for staff.
- Collaborate with faculty and students to develop a student discipline management system that fosters positive student behavior and enhances the virtual learning environment.
- Ensure that school rules are uniformly observed and that student discipline is appropriate andequitable in accordance with the Student Code of Conduct and the student handbook.
- Conduct conferences about student and school issues with parents students and teachers.
- Develop professional skills appropriate to job assignments
- Demonstrate professional ethical and responsible behavior. Serve as a role model for all staff.
- Articulate the schools mission to the community and solicit its support in realizing the mission.
- Demonstrate awareness of virtual school and community needs and initiate activities to meet those needs.
- Use appropriate and effective techniques to encourage community and parent involvement.
- Supervise and evaluate assigned virtual staff including assistant principal(s) teacher(s) counselor(s) instructional aides clerical and support staff.
- Maintain emotional control under stress. Occasional district-wide and state-wide travel. Frequent prolonged and irregular hours.
- Regular and reliable attendance is an essential job function.
